1917	SANP, originally Swiss Archives of Neurology and Psychiatry (Schweizer Archiv für Neurologie und Psychiatrie / Archives suisses de neurologie et de psychiatrie / Archivio svizzero di neurologia e psichiatria; ISSN: 0370-8373), was founded by the neurologist and psychiatrist Constantin von Monakow, the founder of the Swiss Neurological Society (SNG). The journal was published by Orell Füssli.
1923	In honor of von Monakow’s 70th birthday, Volume 13 was published as a Special Issue, featuring contributions from internationally renowned authors.
1959	The journal was published as Schweizer Archiv für Neurologie, Neurochirurgie und Psychiatrie (Archives suisses de neurologie, neurochirurgie et de psychiatrie; ISSN: 0036-7273).
1985	The journal was published as Schweizer Archiv für Neurologie und Psychiatrie (Archives suisses de neurologie et de psychiatrie / Archivio svizzero di neurologia e psichiatria / Swiss Archives of Neurology and Psychiatry; ISSN: 0258-7661).
1992	Published by Zürichsee-Verlag.
1994	Published by J. Bäbler.
1997	Published by Schwabe.

2016	Editores Medicorum Helveticorum (EMH) published the journal under the title Swiss Archives of Neurology, Psychiatry and Psychotherapy (ISSN: 2297-6981; eISSN: 2297-7007).
2020	The journal was designated as the official publication of the Swiss Society for Sports Psychiatry and Psychotherapy (SGSPP).
2026	The journal was published by MDPI, and the new journal acronym SANPP was introduced. The inaugural issue was released. SANPP was published as a quarterly journal.
