Polymer Electrolyte Fuel Cell: Prospects and Challenges

Dear Colleagues,

Proton exchange membrane fuel cells (PEMFCs) are widely used due to their high efficiency, portability, low (or zero) pollution emission, easy scale-up, and fast start-up capability. There is currently great interest in developing desirable proton exchange membranes (PEMs) used for high-performance PEMFCs. Now, PEMs are advanced polymers with numerous applications and are present across almost the entirety of the electrochemical society. Therefore, with the aim of optimizing PEM polymeric materials, technological products provide an exciting avenue of research.

Thus, an in-depth understanding of PEM systems is highly relevant to the performance and development of any polymer-based fuel cells. Both original contributions and comprehensive reviews are welcome.

All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. Polymers is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
