2021	Oceans was indexed in DOAJ and EBSCO.
2023	Oceans was indexed in Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI)—Web of Science (Clarivate Analytics), starting with Volume 1 (Issue 1). Oceans was indexed in Scopus—Elsevier, starting with Volume 1 (Issue 1).
2024	Oceans received its first Impact Factor (2023) of 1.5. Oceans received its first CiteScore (2023) of 3.1.
2025	The Impact Factor increased to 1.6. The CiteScore increased to 3.5.
2026	Oceans adopted a bimonthly publication schedule. Oceans received its 2025 Impact Factor of 2.5, ranked 32/124 in "Marine and Freshwater Biology". Oceans received its CiteScore (2025) of 2.6.
