JoX was indexed in PubMed—National Library of Medicine (NLM), starting with Volume 5 (Issue 1). JoX was indexed in PubMed Central (PMC)—National Library of Medicine (NLM), starting with Volume 5 (Issue 1).
2020	JoX was published by MDPI from Volume 10, Issue 1 (2020). JoX adopted a quarterly publication schedule.
2021	JoX established the following sections: Medicinal Chemistry; Therapeuthics; Herbal Therapeutics; Nutraceutics; Emerging Issues/Novel Xenobiotics; Environmental Chemistry; Ecotoxicology; Nanotoxicology and Nanopharmacology; Biotechnological Products.
2022	JoX was indexed in Scopus—Elsevier.
2023	JoX received its first CiteScore (2022) of 4.6. JoX received its first Impact Factor (6.0). -Herbal Therapeutics was renamed as Natural Products/Herbal Medicines. -Therapeuthics was merged with Medicinal Chemistry to create a new section Drug Therapeutics. -Emerging Issues/Novel Xenobiotics was merged with Environmental Chemistry to create a new section Emerging Chemicals. -Biotechnological Products was renamed as Enzyme Systems, Microorganisms and Biotechnological Products.
2025	JoX adopted a bimonthly publication schedule.
