Young Investigator Award

Dear Colleagues,

We are pleased to announce that the winner of the Journal Insects 2023 Young Investigator Award is Dr. Cecilia Waichert.

Dr. Cecilia Waichert is an Adjunct Professor of the Zoology Departament, Universidade de Brasília (UnB), Brasília, Brazil. Dr. Cecilia Waichert’s research interests include the biodiversity of wasps and their evolutionary patterns, integrating morphological, behavioral and molecular data. Dr. Cecilia Waichert received her PhD in 2014 and has an outstanding publication record, comprising 47 publications in peer-reviewed international journals. She is clearly a rising star in the field of systematics and biodiversity of wasps. This is an outstanding achievement in today’s competitive environment. Please join us in congratulating Dr. Cecilia Waichert for her outstanding achievements.

As the awardee, Dr. Cecilia Waichert will receive an honorarium of CHF 2000, an offer to publish a paper free of charge before 31 December 2024 in Insects after peer-review, and an electronic certificate.
