Statistical Methods for Cancer Genomics
This special issue belongs to the section “Technologies and Resources for Genetics“.
Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
I am very excited to announce and invite submissions for a Special Issue of Genes on statistical methods in cancer genomics. Over the last two decades, revolutionary advances in data collection biotechnologies, data analysis methodologies, and clinical treatment options in cancer research have been among the most exciting developments in all of science. These advances provide intriguing statistical challenges and have prompted the development of innovative statistical methods that drive biological discoveries and save patient lives.
This Special Issue of Genes will provide an engaging forum for the publication of statistical methods and concepts that propel understanding of the molecular biology of cancer and the improvement in clinical outcomes for patients. Submissions covering a broad range of theoretical and applied topics in statistical cancer genomics are welcome, including, but not limited to study design, sample size and power calculation, data preprocessing, integrative analysis of multi-omics and other data, clinical outcome association analysis, meta-analysis of multiple studies, cross-species data integration, and development of molecularly informed treatment rules for personalized treatment of cancer. Authors are encouraged to submit manuscripts that propose new methods, provide informative assessment and statistically meaningful guidance on optimal usage of existing methods, provide comprehensive reviews of recent literature, or offer perspectives and opinions on the best directions for future research.
Please consider submitting your work to this Special Issue and sharing this announcement with your colleagues. I look forward to learning about all your exciting work in this Special Issue!
Sincerely,
Dr. Stanley Pounds
Guest Editor
Manuscript Submission Information
Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Genes is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.
Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2600 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
