Technologies and Resources for Genetics
A section of Genes (ISSN 2073-4425).
Section Information
Since the advent of next-generation sequencing techniques, due to rapid advances in genomic technologies, the scientific community has been able to generate increasing amounts of genomic data. These data can be very challenging to interpret and it is difficult to extract meaningful conclusions out of it. Therefore, the section “Technologies and Resources for Genetics” aims to describe novel advances in technological methods, protocols, and software for the generation and interpretation of genome-derived data. Topics within the scope of this section include, but are not limited to:
- Genome sequencing, genomic technologies, and novel sequencing strategies;
- Functional genomics and genome annotation;
- Computational biology, bioinformatics, and biostatistics;
- Bioinformatics analysis of proteomics and genomics data including new online data resources and tools;
- New approaches for phylogenomic analyses.
