Viral Genomics
Section Information
The Genes section entitled “Viral Genomics” aims to publish articles on viral genomes, viral genomics, and the rapidly expanding area of viral metagenomics and to become a central resource for researchers investigating viral genomics.
The “Viral Genomics” section of Genes welcomes manuscripts on all aspects of virus genomics and metagenomic studies, as well as focused investigations into the activities of individual viral genes and gene products. We are particularly interested in studies addressing diverse virus genomes and a wide range of environments beyond those with specific clinical relevance.
Topics within the scope of this section include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Analysis of existing viral genome sequences.
- Presentation and analysis of new viral genome sequences from all virus groups, including dsDNA, ssDNA, dsRNA, ssRNA and retroviruses.
- Analysis of virus metagenome sequences.
- Presentation and analysis of new viral metagenome sequences from any natural or engineered environment.
- Activities of virus genes and gene products.
