Cytogenomics
A section of Genes (ISSN 2073-4425).
Section Information
The section “Cytogenomics” aims to publish articles related to the chromosome structure, function and organization applied both to research and clinical cases, particularly focusing on the understanding of how genomes evolve and function. We welcome studies using any kind of cytogenetics approach, as long as they provide interesting novel insights into the biology of chromosomes and their evolution. Studies based on cytogenomic data and new applied technologies are particularly welcome.
Topics within the scope of this section include, but are not limited to:
- Banding and molecular cytogenetics;
- Next-generation sequencing;
- Epigenetic approaches;
- Optical mapping/karyomapping;
- CRISPR-Cas9 and gene editing applications in cytogenomics;
- Evolutionary cytogenomics.
