Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
Digital transformation is redefining economies across Europe, creating both exciting possibilities and complex hurdles to overcome. This Special Issue examines how the shift toward digital technologies is reshaping economic frameworks, policies, and growth patterns across Europe. We are witnessing everything from cutting-edge tech, like Artificial Intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), blockchain, and fintech, to innovative financial tools, including the proposed Digital—all of which are fundamentally changing how European economies operate.
We are looking for fresh perspectives on how digital innovations boost productivity and spark creative solutions, while also examining their broader impact on society and the persistent tech gaps between different parts of Europe. A key focus will be understanding how initiatives like the Digital Europe Programme, along with various governmental and private sector efforts, are molding Europe’s tech ecosystem.
Research using any robust methodology is welcome, whether you are diving deep into specific cases, comparing different approaches, exploring theoretical concepts or crunching the numbers. Both new research and comprehensive reviews have a place in this Special Issue.
Our goal is to create a meeting point for diverse voices—from university researchers to industry experts and policy specialists—to better understand how Europe can leverage its digital revolution for widespread prosperity and lasting progress. Your insights could help shape the conversation about where Europe’s digital journey leads.
