Evolving Role of Surgical Resection in Pancreatic Cancer
This special issue belongs to the section “Surgical Oncology“.
Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
Surgical resection remains the cornerstone of curative-intent treatment for pancreatic cancer, yet its role continues to evolve in the context of improved systemic therapies, advanced imaging, and refined surgical techniques. This Special Issue will provide a comprehensive and contemporary overview of surgical resection in pancreatic cancer, with a focus on indications, operative strategies, and prognostic implications.
Topics of interest include patient selection and staging, the management of borderline resectable and locally advanced disease, vascular resection and reconstruction, minimally invasive and robotic approaches, and the integration of surgery into neoadjuvant and adjuvant therapies. This Special Issue will also address perioperative outcomes, oncologic results, quality of life, and emerging biomarkers to guide surgical decision-making.
By bringing together original research, reviews, and expert perspectives, this Special Issue will highlight evidence-based advances, ongoing debates, and future directions in pancreatic cancer surgery, ultimately aiming to optimize patient outcomes through multidisciplinary and technically sound surgical care.
