10th Anniversary
The year 2026 marks the 10th anniversary of Condensed Matter, a peer-reviewed open access journal on the physics of condensed matter. With an Impact Factor of 1.5 and a CiteScore of 2.7, the journal is covered in Scopus, ESCI (Web of Science), Inspec, CAPlus/SciFinder, and other databases. The journal has published more than 600 papers from more than 1900 authors and more than 1200 reviewers have reviewed the journal at least once. We value all the contributions made by our editors, authors, and reviewers.
In honor of the journal’s 10th anniversary, we are reflecting on our past accomplishments and embarking on an exciting new chapter. We invite you to join us in celebrating this milestone and to explore the content we have prepared for you below.

The inaugural issue was released; Condensed Matter was published as a quarterly journal.
Prof. Dr. Antonio Bianconi was appointed as the Editor-in-Chief of Condensed Matter.
Condensed Matter was indexed in Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI)—Web of Science (Clarivate Analytics).
Condensed Matter was indexed in Scopus—Elsevier.
Condensed Matter established the following sections:
- Magnetism;
- Physics of Materials;
- Quantum Materials;
- Superconductivity;
- Spectroscopy and Imaging in Condensed Matter;
- Surface and Interfaces;
- Condensed Matter Theory.
Condensed Matter received its first CiteScore (2020) of 2.2.
Condensed Matter received its first Impact Factor (1.7).
