Advances in Neuromorphic Computing

Dear Colleagues,

Neuromorphic computing aims to emulate the efficiency and adaptability of biological information processing for future intelligent systems. Recent advances across materials science, device physics, integrated circuits, and algorithm design have enabled the development of artificial neurons, synapses, and large-scale networks that operate with amazing energy efficiency and computational density. These innovations are further accelerated by emerging technologies such as quantum materials, memristive devices, photonic and spintronic neuromorphic elements, event-driven sensors, and brain-inspired learning rules. This Special Issue, ‘Advances in Neuromorphic Computing’, aims to highlight progress in neuromorphic hardware, algorithms, architectures, and bioinspired models. Topics include biomimetic device concepts, low-power computing primitives, spiking neural systems, sensing-processing fusion, and applications ranging from robotics and edge intelligence to autonomous systems. Submissions could span theory, modeling, and experiment.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. Biomimetics is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.
