10th Anniversary
The year 2026 marks the 10th anniversary of Data, a peer-reviewed open access journal on data science. With an Impact Factor of 2.0 and a CiteScore of 5.0, the journal is covered in Scopus, ESCI, Ei Compendex, Inspec, DOAJ, and other databases. The journal has published more than 1200 papers from more than 5300 authors. More than 3000 reviewers have reviewed the journal at least once. We equally value the contributions made by our editors, authors, and reviewers.
In honor of the journal’s 10th anniversary, we are reflecting on our past accomplishments and embarking on an exciting new chapter. We invite you to join us in celebrating this milestone for our journal and to explore the content we have prepared for you below.
Journal History
The inaugural Issue was released. Data was published as a quarterly journal.
Prof. Dr. Jamal Jokar Arsanjani was appointed as the Editor-in-Chief of Data.
Data was indexed in Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI)—Web of Science (Clarivate Analytics), starting with Volume 2 (Issue 1).
Data was indexed in Inspec—IET.
Data became an affiliated journal of the Global Open Data for Agriculture and Nutrition (GODAN).
Data was indexed in Scopus (Elsevier), starting with Volume 1 (Issue 1).
Data received its first CiteScore (2019) of 2.1.
Data established the following sections:
Chemoinformatics;
Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, and Biomedical Data Science;
Information Systems and Data Management;
Spatial Data Science and Digital Earth;
Featured Reviews of Data Science Research.
Data announced the 2020 Best Paper Award.
Data adopted a monthly publication schedule.
Data received its first Impact Factor (2022) of 2.6.

Data attended the International Conference on Knowledge Discovery and Data Mining 2025.
