Cover Story: Biocontamination control of surfaces, especially in medical devices, is in high demand to aid the avoidance of medical complications and unnecessary expenses. Developing synthetic surfaces with the aid of nanotechnology could provide biocidal activity and a reduction in the microorganism adhesion. Nanotechnological assessments highlight controlling and handling the virus-inactivating surface development, which might remain popular with the the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic. In addition, combining basic and real-time sensing skills to the antimicrobial surfaces could suggest effective controlling mechanisms for pathogens, which will be important for global public health all over the world. In summary, nanotechnological approaches are crucial for inhibiting the transmission of pathogen-related diseases and are fundamental for the success of biomedical devices. View this paper
