Cover Story: This study applies TESLA, a new tool for analyzing microseismicity, to revisit two seismic sequences in the Monferrato area of Southern Piedmont. By combining advanced relocation techniques with focal mechanism analysis, the research reveals the presence of an active deep strike-slip fault responsible for past seismicity. The results underline the importance of microseismicity in detecting blind seismogenic structures and highlight the contribution of methodological innovations such as TESLA to seismic hazard assessment.
