General comments:

In this work, pyrolytically stripped carbon nanofiber (CNF) polypropylene (PP) composites are synthesized following a scalable melt-mixing method, and the effect of CNF weight concentrations on the electrical conductivity, dielectric permittivity, electrical modulus and electrical impedance of PP/CNF composites are studied. The effects of interface polarization and CNF concentrations were discussed in detail. In order to improve this work further, some revisions should be made to the work.

Detailed comments are as follow:

1.      There are too much keywords, it needs to be simplified to clearly describe the work, I think that 3 or 4 keywords are OK.

2.      The introduction didn’t explain why the authors choose PP/CNF as CPCs? And what is the values and significance of this work. So I suggested the introduction should be re-organization to clearly to show the highlight of the work.

3.      The figures together should have an overall title and then subtitles, Figure.1,2,4,6 and 8 are suggested to give an overall title.

4.      In Figure.2(b), there are a lot of other peaks except for D peak and G peak in the composite of PP and 1wt.% PP/CNF, and 1, 2 and 3 peaks were marked in Raman spectra of PP, but there is almost no explanation for them.

In this paper, a method of preparing conductive polymer (PP/CNF) by a scalable melt-mixing method is introduced. The electrical conductivity, dielectric permittivity, electrical modulus and electrical impedance of PP/CNF polymer with different ratio were analyzed. The rigorous in structure, fluent in writing, highlighted in key points. However, there are still some problems that need to be solved:

1. SEM characterization is not consistent with the description in this manuscript.

2. Only different proportions of PP/CNF complex were compared, but no instructive conclusion was presented.

 

3. Variable subscripts appearing in the Table1 are missing.
