Cover Story: The recent amount of global NBS activity is impressive and has been comprehensively reviewed in this issue by Therrell and colleagues. Comparing NBS activities within and across regions provides a powerful means for promoting health and well-being. Such comparisons encourage actions that can assist developing countries in meeting the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) focused on health and equity: SDG 3.2—End preventable deaths of newborns and children under 5; and SDG 3.4—Reduce non-communicable diseases by one-third through prevention and treatment. The data tables provided allow for comparisons of NBS program activities globally to assist in international program harmonization, and the extensive references provide a comprehensive library of links for accessing new NBS knowledge.
