Cover Story: Our research asserts that roof-top opaque photovoltaic panels installed in greenhouses, shading over 15% of the area, reduce inside radiation to harmful levels for crop yields and fruit quality. High percentages of outside shading in greenhouses also reduce early-yields and delay production at the end of the cropping season. View this paper.
