Minerals, Volume 8, Issue 7

July 2018 - 48 articles

Cover Story: We have established that spatial distribution of content, morphology, grain size, composition, crystal structure and alteration in rock formation and most accessory minerals within the Kovdor phoscorite–carbonatite pipes, reflect the gradual decrease of crystallization temperature and oxygen fugacity from the pipe margin toward its axis. We believe that 3D mineralogical mapping is the best way to reconstruct genesis of any geological complex and to construct its geometallulgical model. Further, this approach helped predict localities of rare secondary minerals and discover some new minerals. View this paper
