The article addresses a very important aspect of determining the amount of water consumption in hotel facilities. The HCWI indicator proposed by the authors is relative, related to a reference facility, and thus contains information about the possible potential water savings for the analyzed facility. The authors based the collection of the values of the necessary indicators on the available literature - a good choice, since carrying out their own measurements of water consumption for very different hotel facilities could always be undermined due to the great diversity of such facilities.

The paper presents a very detailed study of the literature on the subject (a separate appendix of the paper is devoted to this issue and 94 literature items were studied).

The design of the index describing water consumption is very carefully thought out and has many advantages - simple construction from separate modules, responsible for different aspects of water consumption, consideration of all possible factors affecting water consumption, ease of implementation for different climatic zones, consideration of factors related to local tradition, technical equipment of sanitary facilities, etc.

In conclusion, I consider the article to be very significant for its innovative approach to describing water consumption in building facilities.
