Cover Story: The increase in both BEV number and electricity production from RES has led to the development of smart grid technologies for improving the stability of the grid and facing issues related to the non-programmability of RES. Fully bidirectional Vehicle-to-Home (V2H) systems represent a solution in household contexts, but their potential benefits depend on user behavior and electricity management strategies. In this study, we developed and tested an open-source dynamic simulation tool, with an energy-based optimization algorithm implemented, for identifying the most promising users. The performances of the V2H system were evaluated computing electricity auto-consumption and home auto-feeding ratios for which the results of the simulations showed values up to 69% and 82%, respectively. View this paper
