Cover Story: Enhanced dark field microscopy with hyperspectral imaging is used to measure the light scattering of carbon nanodots (CNDs) upon cellular uptake. Nuclear penetrability of the CNDs is found to be plausible according to the observed light scattering signals in the cells associated with quantitative analysis of dependence on the incubation time and concentration of CNDs.
