New Trends in Use of Animal Models in Vaccine Development
Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
The use of animal models in distinct areas of medical research offers undeniable benefits and contributes to the fast and effective development of different treatments and diagnostic tools, which has led to remarkable improvements in the global health of humans and animals. Their use in vaccine development is not an exception.
Nowadays, the emergence of new pathogens and disease outbreaks worldwide is a prominent risk. Thus, researchers, health professionals and medical technology need to be constantly informed and updated regarding new tools to avoid and combat this eminent hazard.
We are pleased to invite you to share your work and data on new approaches regarding the use of animal models and comparative medicine in vaccine development. Sharing and globally improving our approaches and methods to combat infectious diseases is undoubtedly crucial if we want to control infectious diseases in multiple species and avoid global One Health consequences.
In this Special Issue, original research articles and reviews are welcome. Research areas may include (but are not limited to) the following:
- Different species of animal models;
- Types of animal models used in vaccine research;
- Animal models in emerging infectious disease research;
- Alternatives to the use of animal models in vaccine development;
- Current strategies and methodologies in the development of vaccines using animal models in both human and veterinary medicine.
We look forward to receiving your contributions.
