Imaging in Vascular Interventional Radiology
Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
Imaging technologies play a pivotal role in all stages of vascular and interventional radiology (VIR), including patient selection, procedural planning, real-time guidance, and post-treatment assessment. Ongoing advancements in computed tomography (CT), cone-beam CT, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and ultrasound, together with developments in image fusion, 3D roadmapping, and artificial intelligence, are enabling more accurate, efficient, and minimally invasive interventions.
This Special Issue of Tomography seeks to present original research, technical developments, and comprehensive reviews focused on imaging innovations in VIR. Areas of interest include intraprocedural imaging, dual-energy and photon-counting CT, MRI-guided interventions, image-based navigation, quantitative imaging biomarkers, and improvements in imaging workflows. Submissions addressing radiation dose optimization, simulation-based planning, or integration of artificial intelligence into clinical practice are also encouraged.
The objective of this issue is to highlight the transformative role of imaging in enhancing procedural precision, standardization, and clinical outcomes across a broad range of vascular and nonvascular interventional procedures.
