Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

As educational institutions, schools do not only provide students with knowledge and forms certain skills, they also actively contribute to the students’ attitudes and the formation of their values and the social skills. In other words, school is the environment where students develop, nurture their personalitiesand become socialized. Different variables can have a positive or a negative impact on these processes, and one group of factors that can affect them are organizational factors, such as leadership characteristics and the climate at the school as an organization. Researchers have analyzed how a school’s organizational factors, leadership and teacher wellbeing are related to student behaviour and achievement, but this topic has not been explored fully. In particular, there is a lack of research on how a school’s organizational factors and leadership are related to students’ development and socialization. Therefore, this Special Issue on “Leadership and Organizational Climate Building in the Context of School: From the Perspective of Student Development, Socialization and Achievement” is dedicated to filling this gap and expanding knowledge on the relationships between leadership, organizational factors and students’ development, socialization and achievement.

The aim of this Special Issue is to invite researchers to analyze how school leadership, organizational factors and climate are related to student development, socialization and achievement. We invite study of such variables as significant factors for student development, socialization and achievement:

  • School principal leadership behaviour;
  • School principal attitudes;
  • School organizational climate;
  • School ethical climate;
  • Other organizational factors;
  • Teacher behaviour;
  • Teacher attitudes and social-emotional competence;
  • Teacher work-related wellbeing;
  • School type, size, etc.

In this Special Issue, contributions should be submitted in the form one of the three categories of papers—research paper, conceptual paper, or review—of the journal and should address the topic of the Special Issue.
