Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
The Special Issue “Nutritional Strategies and Metabolic Support in Perioperative Medicine and Intensive Care” in Nutrients highlights the essential role of nutritional and metabolic support in improving outcomes for surgical and critically ill patients. Malnutrition and metabolic disturbances are common in these populations and have a significant impact on clinical outcomes.
This Special Issue invites original research, reviews, and clinical perspectives on evidence-based nutritional strategies that promote recovery, enhance immune function, and improve patient survival. Areas of focus include perioperative nutrition, early enteral and parenteral feeding, immunonutrition, metabolic optimization, and personalized approaches to medical nutrition therapy. Additional emphasis will be placed on innovations in prehabilitation, micronutrient supplementation, and the development and use of nutritional screening tools.
By sharing current insights and practical strategies, this collection aims to serve as a valuable resource for clinicians committed to optimizing patient care through targeted nutritional interventions.
