Unraveling Complex Metabolic Diseases: An Omics-Based Approach to Biomarker Discovery

Dear Colleagues,

Human life activities require metabolisms, such as sugar, lipid, amino acid, and energy metabolism. Its relative stability plays a very important role in maintaining human health. Once metabolic dysfunction occurs, it can cause many complex metabolic diseases.

Omics refers to the study of all components of a molecule in cells, tissues, or the whole organism, including genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, and metabolomics. Omics can reveal pathological changes and disease pathogenesis in a more systematic and comprehensive manner, find metabolic abnormalities caused by various disease processes, and the association between various metabolic diseases. It also contributes to the discovery and clinical application of biomarkers for metabolic diseases.

The purpose of this special issue is to investigate and mine the biomarkers of complex metabolic diseases based on omics research methods, and to provide a theoretical foundation for the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of complex metabolic diseases.
