Fungal Infections in Transplant and Immunomodulated Hosts

This special issue belongs to the section “Fungal Pathogenesis and Disease Control“.

Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Fungal infections remain a major cause of morbidity and mortality among immunocompromised patients, including solid organ and hematopoietic stem cell transplant recipients and individuals receiving immunobiologic therapies.

This Special Issue of Journal of Fungi aims to provide a comprehensive, updated perspective on the epidemiology, diagnosis, pathogenesis, and management of fungal diseases in these complex populations.

We welcome clinical studies, case series, experimental data, reviews, and expert opinions that explore diagnostic challenges, antifungal pharmacology, resistance trends, and the impact of host immune modulation on disease outcomes. By integrating multidisciplinary experiences from transplant medicine, infectious diseases, and mycology, this collection seeks to promote advances in prevention, therapeutic strategies, and stewardship practices for invasive and opportunistic fungal infections worldwide.
