Selected Papers from the 14th Asian–Australasian Conference on Composite Materials
Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
The 14th Asian–Australasian Conference on Composite Materials (ACCM 2026) is a flagship conference for researchers, engineers, and industry professionals who work with composite materials. ACCM 2026 is organised under the auspices of the Asian–Australasian Association for Composite Materials, continuing a well-established series that has connected the composite materials community across Asia, Australasia, and worldwide for more than 27 years. Hosted by the Malaysia–Brunei team in collaboration with partner universities, research institutes, and industry stakeholders across the region, ACCM 2026 will be held in Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia, on 14–17 July 2026.
Further information about the conference can be found at https://www.accm2026.com/home.
The overarching vision of ACCM 2026 is to advance the science, engineering, and technological adoption of composite materials in a sustainable and impactful way. ACCM 2026 offers a platform for presenting cutting-edge research and development, discussing emerging challenges, and shaping the future of composite applications in various sectors and industries. ACCM 2026 welcomes contributions across the full spectrum of composite materials, including fundamental studies, applied research, recent developments, and industrial case studies. Topics of interest include the following:
- Fibre-reinforced polymer, metal, and ceramic matrix composites;
- Nano-structured and multifunctional composites;
- Bio-based, green, and sustainable composites;
- Modelling, simulation, and optimisation;
- Manufacturing, processing, and design;
- Damage, durability, fatigue, and failure;
- Testing, characterisation, and non-destructive evaluation;
- Structural applications in aerospace, automotive, marine, energy, healthcare, and infrastructure industries;
- Repair, recycling, end-of-life management, and life-cycle analysis;
- Education, vocation, and knowledge transfer.
This Special Issue will publish selected full papers from ACCM 2026. You may visit the conference webpage for more information and to submit your abstract. We are looking forward to welcoming you to the conference in July!

Manuscript Submission Information
Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Journal of Composites Science is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.
Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 1800 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.

Benefits of Publishing in a Special Issue
- Ease of navigation: Grouping papers by topic helps scholars navigate broad scope journals more efficiently.
- Greater discoverability: Special Issues support the reach and impact of scientific research. Articles in Special Issues are more discoverable and cited more frequently.
- Expansion of research network: Special Issues facilitate connections among authors, fostering scientific collaborations.
- External promotion: Articles in Special Issues are often promoted through the journal's social media, increasing their visibility.
- e-Book format: Special Issues with more than 10 articles can be published as dedicated e-books, ensuring wide and rapid dissemination.
