Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
When many people think of myths and fairy tales, they often call to mind tales and rhymes they believe to be relegated to the children's library. While myths and fairy tales have indeed been an important part of the canon of children's literature, the traditions of myth and fairy tale have informed and infused high literature for centuries. In fact, they have been consistently considered an important facet of high literature themselves.
In this Special Issue, we are looking for essays that consider the role of myth and fairy tale in literature over time. We are happy to consider work that deals with revisionary fairy tales and myths, feminist reinterpretations of traditional stories, allusions to fairy tales and myths by both classic and contemporary authors, new editions of well-known myths and fairy tales, and more. We also welcome work from scholars and writers working across disciplines and modalities in their scholarship and craft. Please submit proposals of 250 words max. to jmccort@pointpark.edu.
