Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
We invite you to contribute to this Special Issue which aims to raise awareness of gynecological cancers.
Gynecological cancers (ovarian, cervical, uterine/endometrial, vulvar, and vaginal cancers) are highly occurring cancers that account for more than one-third of the newly diagnosed cancers globally in females. In 2022, the incidence of gynecological cancer reached 30.3 per 100 000, and the mortality rate reached 13.2 per 100, 000. The incidence of gynecological cancers has been increasing due to improper lifestyle patterns, dietary habits, and environmental and genetic factors.
Recently, there has been significant progress in understanding the molecular basis of gynecological cancers which has had an impact on their classification, diagnostic, and treatment. Moreover, robotic and AI technology has been increasingly implemented in the diagnosis and treatment of gynecological patients, including those with cancers. However, their management remains a significant challenge in everyday practice. Therefore, researchers and clinicians aim to explore new strategies that could enable more reliable and early diagnosis, identify risk factors and predictive markers, and develop personalized therapeutic approaches from surgical innovations to immunotherapy, targeted integrative therapies, and precision medicine that would prolong survival and improve the quality of life of women with gynecological cancers.
This Special Issue aims to present the novel diagnostic and therapeutic procedures for gynecological cancers.
We welcome contributions that highlight the latest findings and provide a comprehensive overview of future opportunities for the diagnosis and treatment of gynecological cancers. In this Special Issue, original research articles, reviews, high-quality case reports, and meta-analyses are welcome.
Research areas may include (but are not limited to) the following: ovarian cancer, uterine/endometrial cancer, cervical cancer, vulvar and vaginal cancer, oncofertility, current diagnostic and therapy, and the survival and quality of life of gynecologic oncology patients.
We look forward to receiving your contributions.
