Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Emotional processes—particularly expression and regulation—are central to psychological wellbeing and play a critical role in healthcare delivery, therapeutic outcomes, and provider–patient relationships.

This Special Issue invites high-quality original research and comprehensive review articles that investigate the role of emotions in healthcare, with particular relevance to experimental psychology, clinical psychology, and psychotherapy.

We especially welcome contributions that explore the mechanisms underlying emotion processing and regulation, and how these can inform clinical practice, health interventions, and patient care strategies.

This Special Issue aims to highlight interdisciplinary and translational research that deepens our understanding of emotional processes in healthcare and enhances psychological support.

We welcome:

  • Empirical studies with robust qualitative, quantitative, or mixed-method designs.
  • Systematic reviews and meta-analyses.
  • Theoretical or conceptual articles.
  • Short communications.
