Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

We invite you to submit your research to the Healthcare journal’s Special Issue, "Data-Driven Strategies for Patient Safety and Clinical Risk Mitigation". Patient safety is a priority in healthcare, as deficiencies frequently lead to preventable adverse outcomes, higher rates of illness and death, prolonged hospital admissions, and an overall decline in patient well-being. Beyond the clinical repercussions, these failures impose substantial economic challenges for healthcare institutions, including fines, legal expenses, and harm to their public image.

To address these challenges, there is a growing need for comprehensive, data-driven approaches that integrate evidence-based practices with advanced technologies. This Special Issue highlights innovative strategies leveraging data analytics, machine learning, and informatics to improve patient outcomes and reduce clinical risks across healthcare settings.

We welcome original research and review articles. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Empirical studies exploring topics related to patient safety or clinical risk mitigation;
  • Machine learning or predictive analytics studies exploring topics related to patient safety or clinical risk mitigation;
  • Comprehensive systematic or meta-analyses summarizing the current state of patient safety or clinical risk mitigation.

We look forward to receiving your valuable contributions.
