Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
Chronic pain is one of the leading causes of disability worldwide, with profound implications for patient safety, daily functioning, and quality of life. Despite advances in pharmacological management, there is a growing need for innovative, safe, and cost-effective non-pharmacological strategies to complement or reduce the use of medication.
We are pleased to invite you to contribute to this Special Issue, “Innovative Non-Pharmacological Interventions in Chronic Pain: Clinical Outcomes, Patient Safety, and Well-Being”. This Special Issue aims to highlight clinical evidence and applied research on novel therapeutic approaches, including physical therapy, exercise, and breathing techniques such as apnea-based protocols. We also welcome studies on physical modalities (e.g., laser therapy, neuromodulation, and electrolysis) and multidisciplinary programs that address chronic musculoskeletal pain.
In line with the scope of Healthcare, we especially encourage contributions that report on clinical outcomes, functional improvements, safety profiles, and impacts on psychosocial and physiological variables relevant to patient well-being.
In this Special Issue, original research articles and systematic reviews are welcome. Research areas may include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Clinical trials of innovative physical and respiratory therapies in chronic pain;
- Patient safety and tolerability of new therapeutic approaches;
- Exercise-based and technology-assisted interventions;
- Psychosocial and physiological correlates of pain management.
We look forward to receiving your contributions.
