Mental Health in Workplace

This special issue belongs to the section “Mental Health and Psychosocial Well-being“.

Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

We are pleased to invite you to submit articles for our Special Issue on mental health in the workplace.

Some professions, such as medical ones, are extremely burdensome for human health. Mostly due to chronic work-related stress-involving relationships with patients, their families, and even other medical staff. In other professions, the burden for mental health is the repetition of the same activities, heavy physical or mental work, shift work or unclear employment policy of the company’s management. Health problems worsen over time and as a result, it becomes increasingly difficult to properly perform professional duties.

The aim of this Special Issue is to stimulate discussion about mental health issues among healthcare professionals and other professionals, particularly in the context of burnout. At the same time, we want to highlight ways to manage workload.

The goal of this research topic is to support a comprehensive and up-to-date understanding of the situation of employees at risk of burnout or other mental health disorders. Potential themes for contributions include (but are not limited to) the following:

  • early detection of health or mental disorders in employees;
  • the impact of employee work organization on their health;
  • causes of burnout in various professions;
  • legal regulations regarding the care of employees with health problems;
  • methods for coping with burnout;
  • emotional labour at work.

We look forward to receiving your valuable contributions.
