Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
An important issue in public health is environmental pollution and its effects on human health, considering also the differences in access to healthcare, both inter- and intra-countries, or in the possibility of limiting personal exposure, and consequently the potential adverse associated outcomes. The estimation of personal exposure is an important topic in epidemiological studies, though it is not simple to assess and manage. Thus, the methodologies used to evaluate the exposure of subjects considered or enrolled in order to perform a reliable risk assessment could be an interesting argument to consider, as this passage could also affect the possible relationships between risk factors and health effects.
For this reason, the aim of this Special Issue is mainly to collect papers considering the role of personal exposure in environmental risk assessment studies and the methods that are used to assess it at the finest possible level. The papers could be original studies or reviews of the scientific literature; they could describe an epidemiological study in which this topic is addressed or they could be methodological articles or even commentaries. Finally, papers considering inequalities in environmental exposure are also welcome.
