Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

“Promoting Wellness and Excellence in Health Education for Medical Students and Healthcare Professionals” is a Special Issue that explores innovative teaching methods, integrates wellness practices, and highlights the transformative benefits of wellness in healthcare education and professional development.

This Issue also highlights the profound impact of a holistic wellness approach (physical, emotional, and spiritual health) and relevant practices such as mindfulness, emotional intelligence, stress management, and meditation on quality of life for healthcare professionals and improved patient care outcomes. By integrating wellness into education, this Issue promotes its value in fostering sustainable personal and professional growth in the healthcare field.

Contributions to this Special Issue may focus on health education alone, wellness practices alone, or the intersection of the two.

Suggested topics may include, but are not limited to, the following aspects:

  1. Personal wellness for healthcare professionals, including a holistic approach (e.g., physical, emotional, and spiritual health) and wellness practical applications.
  2.   Workplace wellness, including strategies for healthcare professionals to maintain a work–life balance.
  3. Future of wellness in healthcare, such as the role of digital tools in supporting healthcare professionals.
  4. Research and evidence-based practices, such as studies on how wellness practices improve mental health, reduce burnout, and enhance job satisfaction.
  5. Interdisciplinary collaboration, such as promoting collaboration between healthcare professionals, psychologists, nutritionists, fitness experts, and social workers to create holistic wellness programs, and successful practical applications.
  6. Practical applications, such as daily wellness practices, stress management techniques, and peer support networks to address wellness of health professionals.

This Issue will use diverse publication types such as short opinion articles, narrative reviews, mixed-methods studies, and case studies. In addition, this Issue creates a dynamic platform for exploring health education, wellness, and their synergy. It aims to inspire innovation, interdisciplinary collaboration, and a holistic approach to healthcare education, ultimately highlighting the importance of wellness to the wellbeing of healthcare professionals. We look forward to receiving your contributions.
