Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Obesity is one of the conditions associated with comorbidities; about 30 percent of school-aged children are overweight and, of these, about 10 percent are obese. The problem of pediatric obesity also carries over into adulthood by generating obese adults with multiple conditions.

Proper attention to weight control must certainly begin in the family, but continue in schools, gyms, sports, and social gathering places; even in these recent times, social media can help spread and understand the huge issue related to pediatric obesity in order to avoid long-time disease.

This Special Issue in Healthcare seeks commentaries, original research, short reports, and reviews on new aspects of pediatric obesity, with different scientific views. This Special Issue aims to inform needed changes in health policies, especially to follow these subjects.

It is our idea to approach the topic of obesity from different perspectives, offering new resources and data to better manage a problem that is current but has enormous future repercussions.
