Special Issue Information
Dear Colleague,
We have the pleasure to announce the 15th International Bernd Spiessl Symposium.
Under the theme “Innovation meets Art”, there will be a focus on face and identity as every year, as well as the digital future of medicine. Rising new fields at the interface between the life sciences and MedTech will be given a platform to nurture interdisciplinary collaboration between medical doctors, scientists, engineers, start-ups and private industry.
Innovative and visionary technologies in Cranio-Maxillofacial Surgery will be presented from Friday, 14 June to Saturday, 15 June 2019 at the University Hospital Basel, Zentrum für Lehre und Forschung (ZLF), Hebelstrasse 20, Basel, Switzerland.
The International Bernd Spiessl Symposium is one of the leading conferences for innovative and visionary technologies in cranio-maxillofacial surgery. The concept unites practical science with highly qualitative academic value that is recognizable in its diversity of topics, such as face and identity, next generation of education, care concepts of the future, smart implants, Internet of the body, robotics, archeomedicine, artificial intelligence, blockchain technology, implantology and navigation, clefts, 3D printing and interesting free topics.
There is a saying: Art leads to scientific and medical innovation—science and medicine inspire art. This is the spirit of the conference. Art performances and music improvisation will form an integrated part of the conference.
Traditionally, our cultural program starts on Thursday evening with an aperitif and a Swiss vernissage. The next evening we invite you to our favorite Gala Dinner at the Wildt’sche Haus. On Saturday, we start our cultural racer, the guided tour through the Art Basel 2019. The congress program ends, as every year, with our traditional Garden Party.
We look forward to meeting you at our exciting scientific event.
Thank you very much!
