Poultry Nutrition and Management: 2nd Edition

Dear Colleagues,

For decades, poultry meat and eggs have been critical protein sources. A variety of challenges exist, including environmental stresses, welfare issues, and mismanagement, causing many issues, such as diseases, oxidative capacity disorders, and immune system and intestinal dysfunction. Moreover, the low-carbon and eco-efficient production of livestock and poultry are the foundation of global ecological and environmental governance. The present Special Issue will continue to focus on characterizing the associations between stress, nutrition and management and the growth performance, antioxidant capacity, immune responses, digestive intestinal microflora, metabolites, and the meat and egg quality of birds. For instance, external pathogens are one key challenge for poultry production, inducing microflora disorders and causing remarkable increased diarrhea and mortality rates. Presently, precision nutrition, green health functional supplements, and welfare behaviors are becoming important methods to address the harmful effects of stress on birds. So, a wealth of research approaches are required to investigate the mechanisms of welfare behavior, nutrition, and precise management, such as omics, animal models, etc. In this Special Issue, original research articles and reviews are welcome. Research areas may include (but are not limited to) the following: poultry nutrition and management, antibiotic supplements, welfare issues, and multi-omics analyses for health and metabolism.

All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process.
