Cover Story: We propose an ensemble of convolutional neural networks and transformers to solve the semantic segmentation task. Diversity among models of the ensemble is enforced by adopting different loss functions and testing different data augmentations. The developed solution is assessed through an extensive empirical evaluation in five different scenarios: polyp detection, skin detection, leukocytes recognition, environmental microorganism detection, and butterfly recognition. The final model provides state-of-the-art results. View this paper
