Cover Story: This issue of Proceedings collects the abstracts of the communications presented at the 1st International Conference on Crystals (IECC 2018). This conference covered a variety of topics related to the following: liquid crystals; biomolecular crystals; crystals engineering; interactions in crystal structures and crystal engineering; nano and two-dimensional crystals; and photonic, phononic, and plasmonic crystals. Prof. Alberto Girlando and Prof. Abel Moreno acknowledge all of the attendees for their participation in this first experience of IECC 2018.
