Our journal, C—Journal of Carbon Research (https://www.mdpi.com/journal/carbon), is an international, scientific, peer-reviewed, open access journal on carbon research, published quarterly online by MDPI. C—Journal of Carbon Research is an international and cross-disciplinary, open access journal of scientific studies related to all aspects of carbon materials, carbon research, and their applications. It publishes original peer-reviewed research articles, comprehensive reviews, and short communications as well as Special Issues on particular subjects. Areas of interest include, but are not limited to, the following topics:
  • Carbon materials and carbon allotropes;
  • CO2 utilization and conversion;
  • Carbon cycle, capture, and storage;
  • Carbon skeletons;
  • Combustion emissions;
  • Environmental applications;
  • Health, biological, and medical applications;
  • The physical properties and characterization of carbon.
The Editors and MDPI are committed to the development of a journal that will be at the cutting edge of the subject. Last year was special to us because it was the year that our journal was indexed in Scopus-Elsevier, and we received our first Impact Factor: 4.1 (2022) with a 5-Year Impact Factor of 4.5 (2022). Furthermore, we have sponsored five conferences internationally, including the World Conference on Carbon 2023; we have supported three academic editors with Travel Grants; 164 publications in C—Journal of Carbon Research have been cited more than 10 times so far; and lastly, the average monthly views per paper are over 60,000.
I wish to thank all authors, reviewers, Editorial Board Members and editorial colleagues for their support and help in supporting C—Journal of Carbon Research.
