Cover Story: The university environment is complex and can exacerbate student suffering. The demands of university life require students to possess complex cognitive and emotional resources from the moment they enter, and this coincides with a sensitive period for social development, autonomy, and identity. This stage of life, marked by transition and adaptation, makes students particularly vulnerable to mental health issues. The pandemic intensified these challenges and directly impacted students' psychological wellbeing, triggering negative emotional responses and subsequently contributing to emotional exhaustion, anxiety, and PTSD symptoms. View this paper
