Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

In the paper the comprehensive study of the FDTD simulations (using the MEEP package) of the selected antennas has been performed and compared to the far-field theoretical expectations. The construction of the simulation model has been shown step by step, together with detailed list and  description of the numerical parameters used, which makes the work easy to reproduce. All the work has been done correctly and results are clearly presented. Since the FDTD method implemented in MEEP is more suited for the smaller systems, scale-invariance has been properly highlighted. So, there are no complaints about the substantial part of the paper. There are small typos, e.g. in lines 125, 314. Also, the designations in the Figures and text should be unified, e.g. in Figure 2 we have plain dy, and italic dy in the text; we have Ri=12 in Figure 2, but R12 (italic and with an vector arrow) in the description, etc. This lowers readability a bit and should be corrected.
