Crystal Growth and Electronic Properties of LaSbSe
Round 1
Reviewer 1 Report
Reviewing your work: Crystal growth and electronic properties of LaSbSe: I found it interesting, however some points should be improved, and others clarified so that the work can be accepted in this prestigious journal.
- I think the summary should be improved. It is qualitative and does not present the main results obtained in the study
- The doping can improve several material properties and the choice for doping depends on several factors. With respect to this, the authors do not justify the percentage of dopants concentration used in this system. Due to the importance for this system, a reasoned explanation must be attached as part of the motivation and justification of the work.
- About the experimental procedure, more details should be provided, for example, chemical balance for the synthesized samples, and purity of raw materials must be provided.
-Provide information on crystallite size, lattice strain lattice parameters as a function of de dopant, easily obtained from Rietveld refinement.
- The EDS is mentioned, but not presented. Please provide SEM images and EDS patterns to enrich your discussion
-- The quality of the figures is very low
- It is appreciable that the authors have analyzed the: Crystal growth and electronic properties of LaSbSe: but the present work does not present an in-depth scientific discussion. Several of the discussions presented are qualitative and in some cases hypothetical, which suggested the inclusion of new discussions and new current references during the discussion to strengthen the work.

The results are interesting and I recommend its publication with minor revision.
1. Please mention about heating and cooling temperature regarding a polycrystalline precursor was prepared by heating the stoichiometric mixture of La, Sb, and Se at 750°C for 2 days
2. What is the importance of the heating temperature
3. At time of heating did you used any gases
4. Figure 3c and 3d error bar missing
5. What is unique properties of the crystal
6. Possible include caparison table
7. Regarding charge transfer study from EIS or else
8. The place of procurement of chemicals/equipment must be mentioned.
9. What is the purity of these analytical samples?
10. Chemicals purity missing
11. In LnSbTe compounds, both metallic and non-metallic electronic transport behav- 114 iors have been observed in temperature dependent resistivity measurements- Please mention in detail

This is an excellent paper, which meets the requirements of Crystals. Some suggestions to better serve readers.
1. Experimental methods should be described in as much detail as possible.
2.Please provide cif files of single crystal diffraction and CCDC numbers.
3. The conclusion should be more detailed.

Authors' response: We deeply thank the reviewer for taking time reviewing our manuscript and the positive comments. Those comments and suggestions are very useful for improving our manuscript.
1. Experimental methods should be described in as much detail as possible.
We have provide additional details, including the purity and source of chemicals, impact of the temperature, etc, in the revised manuscript.
2. Please provide cif files of single crystal diffraction and CCDC numbers.
We have provided cif files in the supplementary material in the revised manuscript.
3. The conclusion should be more detailed.
We have strengthened the conclusion in the revised manuscript.
Again we deeply appreciate all the comments and suggestions.
