Welcome to the Coatings MDPI webinar, where we explore the frontiers of materials engineering at the interface of nanotechnology, biology, and medicine. The three presentations in this session reflect the recent advances of this rapidly evolving field, from the point of view of three outstanding researchers from Australia, Spain, and Romania. They highlight how nanoengineered coatings, nanoporous materials, and bioactive glass thin films are advancing applications ranging from medical devices and diagnostics to sensing platforms and regenerative therapies. Together, they underscore the critical importance of surface and interface engineering in bridging fundamental materials science with real-world solutions to pressing challenges in medicine and technology.
