About the Event
LundOnline convenes librarians, publishers, researchers and funding agencies to discuss the future of the scholarly communication landscape. The conference is sponsored by publishers and free for attendees. The 2026 theme is "Access to Knowledge – Joining Forces towards Community and Sustainable Publishing."
When?
The conference will take place from October 14–16, 2026.
Where?
The event will be held at Lund City Hall on the main square (Stortorget) in the centre of Lund, Sweden.

The 2026 program addresses community-driven and sustainable publishing. Key highlights include:
- Roaming Sponsorship Presence: MDPI joins the conference as a roaming sponsor, taking part in the sessions and conversations throughout the event.
- Community-Driven Publishing Models: Sessions explore how community-led approaches can shape the future of scholarly publishing, alongside a keynote by Samuel A. Moore and a concluding panel on "How can we move towards more sustainable OA?"
- Publishers' AI Strategies and Environmental Impact: The program also covers publishers' artificial intelligence strategies and responsible use of GenAI, as well as the environmental impact of publishing practices.
