Advancing Academic Publishing with MDPI: Online Careers Seminar with Careers Beyond Academia by SCN and Medicine by Design, 14 October 2026
MDPI is excited to be a part of the 2026 Careers Beyond Academia seminar series, hosted by SCN and Medicine by Design. This online event will explore career paths beyond research and academia, and it is geared toward graduate students, research associates, postdoctoral fellows, and anyone holding a life science degree. SCN and Medicine by Design, an academic division of CCRM, combine research, innovation, and commercialization to advance regenerative medicine and make an impact on patients’ lives.
This online seminar will be a great opportunity for life science trainees to explore and gain new perspectives on the types of careers that exist apart from research and academia, such as journal editing and scientific publishing. Attendees will get a chance to learn about the skills and everyday responsibilities associated with these career paths. Participants will hear directly from our speakers to gain insights into their career journeys in journal editing, followed by a panel discussion in which questions and comments can be addressed. The final part of this seminar will include networking in breakout rooms so that everyone may continue the conversation with fellow peers.
Whether you are in your early career or want to explore future career paths, this online seminar is a great way to learn from experts in the field.
